Background

Angretia Haulage was founded in 1984 by Andy and Goretti McCann, and has been going strong for over 30 years.

Andy drove himself and the company had only two outgoing load a week on a Tuesday and a Thursday to Carlow.

They opened the doors of the current premises in 1991. At this stage the number of trucks in their fleet was two. Andy continued to drive alongside another driver Pat McElroy who still works for Angretia today as mechanical staff.

The company name Angretia Haulage is significant to The McCann Family as it is a combination of Andy & Goretti’s names. The uniqueness of it is something that is often admired.

In 2013, after a lot of thought Andy & Goretti along with their three daughters Olivia, Madeline and Marcella decided it was time to step down.

Their daughter Madeline and her husband Martin Hughes became the Company Directors.

Both Madeline and Martin had driven the trucks for years. Martin also is the current Transport Manager.

The Company now has a fleet of 16 trucks, 3 Rigids, 13 Articulated and 2 Company Vans.

The load count is now roughly 140 a week.

Hopefully we can strive to more success in the next 30 years.
